My company CRG inc had a small but very important corporate event this Monday, We had important wine people from all around the world meeting with us and we new we had to be discrete and very hands off with these people. I made some phone calls to PR people I knew and got the names of some local photographer. I told the photographers what we were doing and how important it was that these well known wine reps be treated the correct way. We new we wanted to document the event without getting in there faces. After some thinking we hire Peter Bruce. He had a good back ground of photographing famous people and had worked at some great venues like the Ritz Carlton.
We had a few pre meetings and we talk about what we wanted and how we wanted these people to be treated.
Well long story short Peter was perfect.
He had the right balance of getting what we needed and not making guest feel uncomfortable.

The photos on the wall of family vacations and friends really gives an intimate view of his daily life, and the importance of friends and family.
I went to his website & FB page to see some of his other work, and I'm very impressed with his holistic sense of time and place. By that, I mean that his wedding photos show the grand before pictures of a beautiful space about to have a sacred event, and also, the "Kids at Weddings" album on his FB page, showing that he is incredibly talented at capturing the special moments that happen during the festivities. The actual bridal photos are beautiful.
If I were having an event that required a photographer, I would look no further.

I heard of Peter Bruce as a result of seeing my buddy's wedding photos. The quality of the photos were amazing. After finding out that you get the photos in a digital format immediately following the wedding, I was already sold without even meeting Peter.
I contacted Peter and found that his chill personality made him a blast to deal with. I viewed some of his previous work and had no doubt in my mind that we wanted to go with him.
Our wedding day came and we were unfortunately met with a tremendous amount of fog. This would have presented many photographers with a difficult challenge, but not Peter. He just transitioned cameras and got some fantastic shots. The rest of the night was filled with fun and photos. He knew exactly when to snap shots of romantic moments and rambunctious moments.
The next morning I received a call from Peter telling me that there were some photos up on his website already. The photos that were there were absolutely amazing and super convenient to email to friends and post on Facebook. I would highly recommend Peter Bruce as a wedding photographer. I was photographed for Peter Bruce's "B for a Cure" project and was impressed by his warmth, the ability to put people at ease in a potentially uncomfortable situation, and the quality of his work.
I'm a professional glamour photographer myself, and was drawn by the cause to become a model for Peter, this one time :-). In the course of my 15 year career, I've dealt with hundreds upon hundreds of models, and have heard of their experiences with other photographers too.
The main compliment to me and other photographers was always "He/she made me feel so comfortable and the photo shoot was fun!", followed by "Wow, amazing pictures!". The main complaints were always the opposite "He/She was aggressive, demanding and made me nervous".
Peter has both of the main elements that make a great people photographer - wonderful "bedside manners" and a genuine talent. If I were in the least nervous (I wasn't - I'm a scandalous tramp), he'd have surely put me at ease.
Once in the shoot, he was quick to size up what works for my physical type, and gently suggest a few best poses. It was very obvious that he's been doing this for a long time, doing it well, and that he loves his work. Afterwards, he showed me the results. While not necessary, this was appreciated and a nice touch.
If I can ever afford a wedding photographer (and a wedding), he'd be one of the first ones I'd look up.
By the way, you might have noticed that there are quite a few reviews in a short period of time again. No, he didn't write these himself - I and many of his other models are on the mailing list, and I've just got an emailed encouragement to write our opinion of him on Yelp. I'm happy to do so, 'cause he's great!

Peter Bruce did our engagement photos and our wedding photos and his work is absolutely beautiful. Peter is great at candids and caputuring the emotions of the event. I just got my photos today and they are without a doubt beautiful!
Funny story about our wedding.... I had been working with Peter for nearly a year prior to our wedding. Our wedding was at the St. Joseph's Cathedral Basilica in San Jose with the reception at the Fairmont in San Jose. The day of our wedding Peter was at the Fairmont in SAN FRANCISCO and when he called me to tell me he had arrived, I was wondering why he wasn't knocking on the hotel room door. I was deeply disappointed that Peter and I had the mixup as far as locations, and I just didn't know how he would get to the wedding on time. Sadly, it was also one of the few days in October that was actually raining. I was at a loss since he was the only photographer I hired for the event.
Not wanting to give up, Peter talked to my bridesmaids/MOH who gave him directions. Peter (who had gotten dropped off at the Fairmont in SF) had no car, in the rain, and the wedding was in San Jose about to start within one hour. This is how deticated Peter is to his job. He somehow rented a car, got himself to the Fairmont in San Jose depsite the rain JUST IN TIME as I was getting into the limo to head to the Cathedral. It was a miracle but somehow Peter pulled it off. He also took great pictures at the church and reception. I wish I had pre-photos done with my parents and bridal party but we had many photos from personal cameras that captured the moments. All in all, Peter came thru, did a wonderful job and I was happy to have had him shoot my wedding.

I just had another amazing experience with Peter!! I needed a last minute gift for my boyfriend's birthday, and by last minute I mean like overnight. I came up with a fun idea to frame my print from "B for a Cure" so I called Peter on Thursday, he was able to print it and have it shipped to New York overnight for me so I could have it Friday. First of all, you can expect solid teamwork from me. That's important because we're about to spend a lot of time together -- the photographer is the one person who's with you from your last moments as a single person to your first dance as a married couple and beyond. You can count on me to be a partner, a friend, a sharp set of eyes. I have a great deal of wedding experience, which I am happy to share with you.
Second of all, I'm there to make your life easier and less stressful. Weddings can be unpredictable, and that's why I don't charge by the hour. You don't want to hire some by the hour and then feel rushed into the photos, or get forced to pay extra because you are running late. I will let the day unfold at its own pace. I'll be there to shoot your event from start to finish, without the worry of extra costs like overtime.
Another thing that's important is -- I'm easy to get along with. No-one should have to put up with a moody photographer, especially during a wedding. It is your day and your photographer should be sensitive to your needs, flexible, and helpful – not demanding and diva (ask your friends how their photographers behaved…).
Third, I give you options-not packages. Flexibility is important. Your wedding is unique, no two weddings are the same, so your photographer shouldn’t treat your wedding like the one they shot last week. I also like to work with you on the whole process, from what shots you want and don't want, to the best timeline for you during the day, right though to picking out your album color.
Fourth, I don't charge extra for black & white or sepia toning. I don't push albums or other items that can add expense to photography costs.
Fifth, I always have back up equipment and staff on hand along with insurance.
Sixth, I am the one who will shoot your wedding, not my assistants. This is extremely important – you should get the photographer whose work you have seen, not their assistant-in-training. If an assistant is needed to help with film, camera backs, staging, etc, I will bring one at no additional charge to you.
And finally, I like to shoot on FILM. I do understand the importance of having a digital file, so what I like to do is shoot on film, scan the negatives and give you everything! Prints, negatives and unlocked DVDs to use however you wish. There is no extra charge and no lengthy waiting period.
Why FILM you ask? The reason is simple – the images are vastly better than digital. Please don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I am happy to shoot digitally for you if that is what you truly want, and also would be very happy to discuss the pros & cons of both. But as I tell all the couples who ask, the reason Hollywood still shoots movies on film is it is BETTER!
With all that, your whole wedding should cost about $2,500 - $2,900 to shoot.

My company CRG inc had a small but very important corporate event this Monday, We had important wine people from all around the world meeting with us and we new we had to be discrete and very hands off with these people. I made some phone calls to PR people I knew and got the names of some local photographer. I told the photographers what we were doing and how important it was that these well known wine reps be treated the correct way. We new we wanted to document the event without getting in there faces. After some thinking we hire Peter Bruce. He had a good back ground of photographing famous people and had worked at some great venues like the Ritz Carlton.
We had a few pre meetings and we talk about what we wanted and how we wanted these people to be treated.
Well long story short Peter was perfect.
He had the right balance of getting what we needed and not making guest feel uncomfortable.

I went to Peter to pose for his B For A Cure project. It was a totally comfortable and professional environment.
The photos on the wall of family vacations and friends really gives an intimate view of his daily life, and the importance of friends and family.
I went to his website & FB page to see some of his other work, and I'm very impressed with his holistic sense of time and place. By that, I mean that his wedding photos show the grand before pictures of a beautiful space about to have a sacred event, and also, the "Kids at Weddings" album on his FB page, showing that he is incredibly talented at capturing the special moments that happen during the festivities. The actual bridal photos are beautiful.
If I were having an event that required a photographer, I would look no further.

I heard of Peter Bruce as a result of seeing my buddy's wedding photos. The quality of the photos were amazing. After finding out that you get the photos in a digital format immediately following the wedding, I was already sold without even meeting Peter.
I contacted Peter and found that his chill personality made him a blast to deal with. I viewed some of his previous work and had no doubt in my mind that we wanted to go with him.
Our wedding day came and we were unfortunately met with a tremendous amount of fog. This would have presented many photographers with a difficult challenge, but not Peter. He just transitioned cameras and got some fantastic shots. The rest of the night was filled with fun and photos. He knew exactly when to snap shots of romantic moments and rambunctious moments.
The next morning I received a call from Peter telling me that there were some photos up on his website already. The photos that were there were absolutely amazing and super convenient to email to friends and post on Facebook. I would highly recommend Peter Bruce as a wedding photographer. I was photographed for Peter Bruce's "B for a Cure" project and was impressed by his warmth, the ability to put people at ease in a potentially uncomfortable situation, and the quality of his work.
I'm a professional glamour photographer myself, and was drawn by the cause to become a model for Peter, this one time :-). In the course of my 15 year career, I've dealt with hundreds upon hundreds of models, and have heard of their experiences with other photographers too.
The main compliment to me and other photographers was always "He/she made me feel so comfortable and the photo shoot was fun!", followed by "Wow, amazing pictures!". The main complaints were always the opposite "He/She was aggressive, demanding and made me nervous".
Peter has both of the main elements that make a great people photographer - wonderful "bedside manners" and a genuine talent. If I were in the least nervous (I wasn't - I'm a scandalous tramp), he'd have surely put me at ease.
Once in the shoot, he was quick to size up what works for my physical type, and gently suggest a few best poses. It was very obvious that he's been doing this for a long time, doing it well, and that he loves his work. Afterwards, he showed me the results. While not necessary, this was appreciated and a nice touch.
If I can ever afford a wedding photographer (and a wedding), he'd be one of the first ones I'd look up.
By the way, you might have noticed that there are quite a few reviews in a short period of time again. No, he didn't write these himself - I and many of his other models are on the mailing list, and I've just got an emailed encouragement to write our opinion of him on Yelp. I'm happy to do so, 'cause he's great!

Funny story about our wedding.... I had been working with Peter for nearly a year prior to our wedding. Our wedding was at the St. Joseph's Cathedral Basilica in San Jose with the reception at the Fairmont in San Jose. The day of our wedding Peter was at the Fairmont in SAN FRANCISCO and when he called me to tell me he had arrived, I was wondering why he wasn't knocking on the hotel room door. I was deeply disappointed that Peter and I had the mixup as far as locations, and I just didn't know how he would get to the wedding on time. Sadly, it was also one of the few days in October that was actually raining. I was at a loss since he was the only photographer I hired for the event.
Not wanting to give up, Peter talked to my bridesmaids/MOH who gave him directions. Peter (who had gotten dropped off at the Fairmont in SF) had no car, in the rain, and the wedding was in San Jose about to start within one hour. This is how deticated Peter is to his job. He somehow rented a car, got himself to the Fairmont in San Jose depsite the rain JUST IN TIME as I was getting into the limo to head to the Cathedral. It was a miracle but somehow Peter pulled it off. He also took great pictures at the church and reception. I wish I had pre-photos done with my parents and bridal party but we had many photos from personal cameras that captured the moments. All in all, Peter came thru, did a wonderful job and I was happy to have had him shoot my wedding.

I just had another amazing experience with Peter!! I needed a last minute gift for my boyfriend's birthday, and by last minute I mean like overnight. I came up with a fun idea to frame my print from "B for a Cure" so I called Peter on Thursday, he was able to print it and have it shipped to New York overnight for me so I could have it Friday. Not only does he do amazing work with photos, but his customer service is outstanding as well!! I will absolutely hire him again in the future!

First of all, you can expect solid teamwork from me. That's important because we're about to spend a lot of time together -- the photographer is the one person who's with you from your last moments as a single person to your first dance as a married couple and beyond. You can count on me to be a partner, a friend, a sharp set of eyes. I have a great deal of wedding experience, which I am happy to share with you.
Second of all, I'm there to make your life easier and less stressful. Weddings can be unpredictable, and that's why I don't charge by the hour. You don't want to hire some by the hour and then feel rushed into the photos, or get forced to pay extra because you are running late. I will let the day unfold at its own pace. I'll be there to shoot your event from start to finish, without the worry of extra costs like overtime.
Another thing that's important is -- I'm easy to get along with. No-one should have to put up with a moody photographer, especially during a wedding. It is your day and your photographer should be sensitive to your needs, flexible, and helpful – not demanding and diva (ask your friends how their photographers behaved…).
Third, I give you options-not packages. Flexibility is important. Your wedding is unique, no two weddings are the same, so your photographer shouldn’t treat your wedding like the one they shot last week. I also like to work with you on the whole process, from what shots you want and don't want, to the best timeline for you during the day, right though to picking out your album color.
Fourth, I don't charge extra for black & white or sepia toning. I don't push albums or other items that can add expense to photography costs.
Fifth, I always have back up equipment and staff on hand along with insurance.
Sixth, I am the one who will shoot your wedding, not my assistants. This is extremely important – you should get the photographer whose work you have seen, not their assistant-in-training. If an assistant is needed to help with film, camera backs, staging, etc, I will bring one at no additional charge to you.
And finally, I like to shoot on FILM. I do understand the importance of having a digital file, so what I like to do is shoot on film, scan the negatives and give you everything! Prints, negatives and unlocked DVDs to use however you wish. There is no extra charge and no lengthy waiting period.
Why FILM you ask? The reason is simple – the images are vastly better than digital. Please don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I am happy to shoot digitally for you if that is what you truly want, and also would be very happy to discuss the pros & cons of both. But as I tell all the couples who ask, the reason Hollywood still shoots movies on film is it is BETTER!
With all that, your whole wedding should cost about $2,500 - $2,900 to shoot.
